This man is truly amazing. This man has carried a twelve foot cross through every nation in the world. It really makes the tasks I have been given look menial. I went to see the movie made about his life, and it was just phenomenal! It is all about Jesus, and how good he is. The movie really was life changing. Didnt hurt that my friend works at the movie theater and I got in for free! Really amazing though. Check it out! Powerful stuff!

01:47 pm - Psalm 91
Psalm 91 (New International Version) Psalm 91 1 He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. 2 I will say of the LORD, "He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust." 3 Surely he will save you from the fowler's snare and from the deadly pestilence 4 He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart. 5 You will not fear the terror of night, nor the arrow that flies by day, 6 nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness, nor the plague that destroys at midday. 7 A thousand may fall at your side, ten thousand at your right hand, but it will not come near you. 8 You will only observe with your eyes and see the punishment of the wicked. 9 If you make the Most High your dwelling— even the LORD, who is my refuge- 10 then no harm will befall you, no disaster will come near your tent. 11 For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways; 12 they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone. 13 You will tread upon the lion and the cobra; you will trample the great lion and the serpent. 14 "Because he loves me," says the LORD, "I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name. 15 He will call upon me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him. 16 With long life will I satisfy him and show him my salvation."
Reading Psalm 91 will lift your spirits and refresh your soul, knowing that God is all powerful, and protecting you as His very onw child. The amazing thing about being a Christian is that God is for you, and not against you. He wants you to win. So all the trials and tribulations in reality, for the believer, is God's attempt to mold your character into what He wants it to be. The devil cannot touch you, unless you are knowingly commtitting sin, in which case, you are acting on the devils lies, and will then reep the consequence of evil. Fearing God cannot be overlooked, because, truly, with God on your side, you have nothing else to fear. (side note:-Respecting you boss, spouse, other family members, friends and neighbors, pastors, police etc. needs to be done out of love, not fear, even though they do hold your lives in their hands, however, authority is set up by God, so in "fearing" your boss, you are actually still only fearing God as he is the one who set the authorities over you!) (side note2-:Theology is fun, dont you think, because it has so many practical applications. Arguing for truth is ok. Petty useless arguments is what you want to avoid. Like what is your favorite band, Led Zeppilin, or Aerosmith. Which is the better team, Patriots or Cowboys. These types of things will not produce good results. However, convincing people of the truth, and debating, or arguing is ok as it promotoes Godly change in the minds of the hearers.) " .

03:29 pm - There will be a test! Check this out!
| |
March 20, 2009 The Final Exam Matthew 25:31-40 "Pay attention because there will be a test later." Upon completing their schooling, most people are relieved not to have to hear those words anymore. Well, your testing days are not quite over, because God has a final exam for believers. Below is a brief "study guide" outlining what the Lord's faithful can expect at His judgment throne. The Questions. Examining each believer's life from the moment of salvation to death, God looks for the answers to three questions: - How much truth did he or she know?
- How many opportunities did the person have to use that truth?
- What did he or she do with those opportunities?
So you see that we are actually preparing for the final exam right now. On judgment day, no excuses or arguments can stand, nor will anything unrighteous, selfish, or evil be permitted in His holy presence. All we will have to show is what we did in God's name. The Rewards. Every person who receives Jesus Christ as Savior shares in the gift of eternal life. However, just as each one is judged by his or her own life, so are rewards given individually. Though the Bible is not specific about the nature of heavenly blessings, the promise of receiving them permeates its pages (Matt. 5:12, 6:4; 1 Cor. 3:8; Rev. 2:23). God has given us so many big and small ways to honor Him. Do not waste a moment of preparation time! On the appointed day, you will want to stand before Him, certain that you used your opportunities to the fullest |

06:40 pm - END TIMES Well, as we all know, the United States is not referenced in the Bible, as most astute Revelation readers note. So where is the USA in the end times. It is safe to say that the USA is pretty much not a world presence. It is my opinion, and many conservative talk show radio hosts, that this is the sunset of the American world dominance. The era is over, and the world power will very soon be the European Union. Their financial strength, will turn into political strength, and ultimately military dominance! There presence is very real in biblical prophecy.
I dont know, but the way everything is going in America, and at the rate were going, I could see five years until the return of Christ. Of course, only the Father know the time, but I would not be surprised at all if it was right around the corner. I mean, if there was a rapture, that could account for why the USA is not present int Revelation, as around fifty percent would be taken to heaven in the blink of an eye. That could be one reason, who knows. We are to be in prayer, much more than watching sports, or going fishing. True, True!

This is a comment that I think is really good. I posted a blog entry in Jesus Freaks where I expounded on the verse in james 4:12, "ye have not because yye ask not." It is amazing to me that people still are in 1517, when people were taught that povery and sickness were God's way of teaching humility. luther had enough of it, and I think we all should have had enough of that type of teaching. This post by kimcarkat defends my post well!
The Lord's prayer says "thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven", there is no sickness in heaven and there is no poverty in heaven. There is incredible power in our words and the measure of our faith, we must confess with our mouth, (words),and believe in our hearts (faith) to recieve salvation. We are saved by grace that we do not deserve because we are all sinners who have fallin short of the glory of God. It is not prosperity theology to believe a God who would send his only son to die on a cross for you and I would also want us to be successful in this life. I know in order to gain salvation I have to keep up my end of the deal, I also know to recieve God's blessings in my finances I must tithe, not because it's required but because it is a form of worship. The gospel is great news that people are dieing to here, but the best witness is someone who strives to be Christ like in all areas of life. We are more than conqueror's, no weapon formed against us shall prosper, we are the head and not the tail! Is this prosperity theology? How about Psalm 91, is this prosperity theology? No, its the living breathing word of God!!!
The thing about read the Bible for yourself, is that you cannot hide the fact that God wants to bless you. It is everywhere in the Bible. I guess if God did not want to bless us, he could have let all of humanity go to hell, but he didnt. God sent his son Jesus Christ to redeem us from sickness. poverty, and death.
Romans 8:2 2because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit of life set me free from the law of sin and death.
When the Puritans were building their towns in the early 1700s, they built schools so people could learn how to read the Bible. They knew that reading the Bible for yourself is the best education you can get, and that way you could not be fooled by erroneous theology, but learn for yourself the good new. Another thing, would it be good news if you were supposed to be broke, I think not!

02:37 pm - Dangers of porn! (check this article out)
Millions are lured into the dangers of pornography through the internet pornography’s easy accessibility, accompanied by the perception of privacy and anonymity. Cyber porn is highly addictive and extremely detrimental to intimacy in a marriage. With over 95% of viewers being male, porn’s effect on intimacy is complicated since it is easy for wives to underestimate its bad effects. As a barrier to intimacy, habitually viewing pornography sets up formidable walls between couples: guilt, unrealistic sexual expectations, addictive behaviours, and the erosion of trust, to name just a few. Consider the following stats on porn*: - Pornographic websites: 4.2 million (12% of total)
- Daily search engine requests for porn: 68 million (25% of total search engine requests)
- Daily porn emails: 2.5 billion (8% of total emails).
- Internet users who view porn: 42.7%
- Websites offering illegal child porn: 100,000
- Monthly Internet Porn Sales: $4.9 billion
- Every second: 28, 258 internet users are viewing porn
- Every 39 minutes: a new porn movie is created in the United States
*Stats are by Jerry Ropelato at Internet Filter Review. Here are just a few of the dangers of pornography: - Addiction:
The experience of sexual arousal can be intense when viewing pornography, and as a result, an addiction can be very easily formed. To respond to the body’s urges for “another hit” reinforces a habit that becomes extremely difficult to break. The combined physical and psychological responses to pornography make it “the crack cocaine of sexual addiction”. Addiction itself develops through progressively dangerous stages: addiction, escalation, desensitization, and then acting out sexually. The dangers of pornography are evident with every stage more destructive than the one before. - Destruction of Intimacy:
Intimacy is based on trust and commitment. The dangers of pornography can be seen as a constant erosion of those values and qualities. Almost without exception, husbands keep their addiction to porn a secret from their wives. Over the long term, the results are guilt and isolation: the husband retreats emotionally and finds himself in a barrenness of soul. He has lost any intimacy that he was experiencing with his wife, and has discovered that pornography initially excites but, without fail, disappoints. Sex without intimacy is hollow and futile. Yet within the framework of intimacy, sex is an awesome way for a husband and wife to connect emotionally and physically: it has the ability to provide true intimacy, joy, and sexual satisfaction! - Decreased Excitement and Satisfaction:
Research has shown that repeated exposure to pornography not only results in a diminished sexual arousal but also a decreased satisfaction with the sexual partner and the partner’s sexuality. - Despair:
The dangers of pornography come with a hidden price tag! Many men involve themselves in porn to try to fill some need, or simply out of a curiosity—and then quickly discover they are being controlled by a destructive habit. By this stage, intervention from the outside is usually necessary. Confiding in a trusted friend or counselor is the first step of the journey to become free. Unfortunately for men who try to hide their addiction, there is a spiraling dynamic of guilt, emptiness, isolation, and perverted thinking that takes place. The end of such a spiral is despair. - Warped Thinking and Desensitization:
Pornography leaves the impression that sex is unrelated to love, commitment or marriage; and that irresponsible sex has no undesirable penalties. Desensitization of rape as a crime, misconceptions about the popularity of certain sexual practices, and a decrease in the care of female sexuality are additional effects of repeated viewing of pornography.
The dangers of pornography lead to men finding more than they bargained for when starting down the path of cyber porn. For those men looking for freedom from this addiction, help is available! First, a man must recognize his sin, and turn to the Lord Jesus for forgiveness. With this awareness of forgiveness, he needs to enter into accountability relationships with other Christian men who have also found freedom over pornography. The dangers of pornography can be overcome, and a man once ensnared by cyber porn will be able to experience a new life of intimacy with his wife.

08:54 am - A prayer from a friend... Father, in the name of Jesus, I decree and declare:
That my spirit man is clad with the armor of the Lord and the armor of light. I come in the volume of the book that is written of me. Let Your Kingdom come, let Your will be done, in earth as it is in heaven. Your Kingdom is my priority. Fulfilling my assignment in Your Kingdom is my pleasure. I command my day to fully cooperate with Your plan and purpose for it. Empower me to serve you in holiness and righteousness. Rescue me from my enemies, Lord, for I hide myself in you. Overthrow the horse and the rider Lord. Change legislations, policies, procedures, statutes, regulations, and codes so that Your will is performed in the earth without frustrations or setbacks. I speak peace into my life, relationships, ministry, work place, business, home, etc. Everything that is misaligned I command to come into divine alignment. I decree and declare that since I wear the helmet of salvation, it protects my mind. Holy Spirit lead and guide me into all truth. Order my steps according to Your Word and Your original plan and purpose for my life.

10:16 am - Keeping it real Setting goals is so important. Where do you want to be five years from now. Where do you want to live, drive, travel to, what job do you want. If you have a career already set, good for you, that is great, but not everyone does. Any people, even with professional degrees may not be happy. Are called to a certain field, do you have a heart for a certain group of people, either older , younger, or of a different race. Where do you feel that God is leading you? Is it all about money? You know what the Bible says, the only person Jesus couldnt save was the rich man. Imagine, having the opportunity to walk with the Lord, and being a disciple of Christ himself, and yet walking away because of being unwilling to part with his personal possesions. Im sorry, but a nice new car never loved me back, nor did a nice house. I am a believer in having nice things, but not at the expense of my soul. My souls needs come first, then my physical. My soul know what it wants. I just have to listen, and when I say soul, I do mean spirit.
I think that money is the problem for many people. A love for money over a love for God. Loving God must come first, and the good news is that all the good things will be added to you afterwards. God, education, job, house, family, having a life....One must know God before you can pick the right career. I know that what I really want to do, play music, does not pay...
I have had to find others ways to live. In a way I am living a lie, because I am not doing what I really want to do, but at the same time, I am being genuine, as i am working towards that goal. When I have enough money, I can go and do what I want to do, which is be a band leader, travel the world, and preach the gospel. Evangelism through music. Not necessarily Christian music, but kind of like U2, having a good message and so forth. I am more interested in Jazz than anything else, really want to play over in Europe and the Soviet Union. There is soo much need for God there, and people can pick out of your spirit, that ther eis somthing different about you, not necessarily a Billy Graham evangelistc crusade.
I love the Lord with all my heart, so I know that he will bring the desires of my heart to pass. I just have to follow him faithfully. I work in sales, and there is enough money in that field, that in a few years, I could be living my dream. That is my goal. Living the dream. My dream of being a jazz band leader, traveling the world, my house paid for, my cars paid for, my student loans paid off, and married with children, mother and father and sister taken of, as well as seeing those places in the world that I want to see.
Amen to dreams coming true! God Bloess you as you achieve your dreams with God's help and by His grace. Amen!

09:00 am - Carrying your cross Much of life seems to be getting up, getting ready for work, going to work, getting home, eating, exercising, bathing, and going to sleep, then doing it all over again. The weekend consists of doing laundry, vacuuming, food shopping, maybe a movie, or dinner out, with church on Sunday. Then another weeks passes. Then maybe a birthday, or thanksgiving, or Christmas, along with federal holidays give you a boost . So the year goes by. What is new. Hopefully youve read some good books. Or made a difference in someones life, by your presence, positive words, or money. Maybe you have grown with the Lord, and he is ready to give you greater responsibility in his kingdom, or maybe your still lost in the wilderness of worldlyness. It seems that time is the great factor. Contiune to carry that cross!
